Vulcano shells are being delivered to Ukraine by Germany, german MoD stated.
Well, now we shall see how well they work, Ukraine is getting hundreds...
I bet the pilot really enjoys that nose-down as the vehicle exits. Change your shorts after that one...
AWESOME
This will be for both the 127/54 & 127/64 guns, as well as the 76mm right?
I was in the South African army, and yes those vehicles were in service in '91. One of the very reasons that the SADF did not go for many tracked vehicles, was that a mine could render it useless, where as a wheel can easily be replaced. The first of the American wheeled MPV is the striker. These were never a British or American original design.

No we gave those to south Africa idiots stop trolling because you failed to join the military
whao.Laser Beam!!!Cool:)
Soon this projectile will be employed by the 76 mm blindo "Draco" an anti-aircraft developed on the "Centauro B-1" chassis on specific of Esercito Italiano.
@kdlt235 Of course these specific vehicles did not but the Caspir is one forerunner and we had plenty of those long before the MRAPs, and vehicles like the Mamba which is a pioneering design entered service in South Africa in the mid 90s. Od how some now believe these designs are American or British. Sure theyhave taken it to the next level and that is awesome.
@llewellleo These vehicles did not exist in 1991.
Saw these vehicles in South Africa in 91 when I was a soldier, tough and really mean. I love the improvements the Americans have made.
@theneedforspeed100 kind of, the predator was originally supposed to be a close ranged uav, but they modified it for weapons.
@theneedforspeed100 actually no, the predator got eaten, you can tell because, 1. the global hawk is slightly fatter and black 2. you can see the camera on the bottom of the one that got eaten (predators have camera's) 3. the predators back wings face downwards, the last 2 describe the one that got eaten.
German FFG?
@Alejandr0TheGreat Reapers are technically Predators, albeit with longer wings and a greater payload capacity.
watch liveleak and see these vechicles blow
nice delivery, it must be exciting for the pilot haha
Yeah it looks fun
@lordhood117 FAIL REAPER KILLS
Apparently, this is a simulation reconstruction from the data in the black box after the accident.
FAIL! Predators kill. Global Hawks GET killed.
well the pzh2000 is from germany, the ammo purely from oto melara. I hope we will acquire it.
I believe the guidance technology is a joint venture between Diehl of Germany and Leonardo of Italy.
Actually is an italian project by italian firm oto melara... Dutch pays some of research cost...
Folgore8585 you said the "Dutch" (the Netherlands) pays some research cost for what..? are you drunk?
@Magni56 I see your point. It will be an interesting scenario.
Saturation attack is all good, but one have to consider the survivability of a artillery battery rapid firing large salvos in short amount of time. If I remember correctly, in 1991 Gulf War, it was estimated that Iraq front line artillery units have about 5-10 minutes to relocate before counter-artillery bombardment.
This is not an exaggeration because Vulcano round actually glides after reaching apogee. Also, it is a sub-calibre round which means high muzzle velocity and low drag (and of course, less bursting charge).
cool
Why do some of these have tandem (twin) rear axles and others only 1 axle? Different missions?
I actually buid the vechicles where i work.i love it
Beautiful.
my brother got one of these in their unit he said he loves driving it, its like the cadilac of iraq
more like american. Considering the Raytheon HQ is in fucking Waltham MA
Don't think in traditional artillery. You don't even need to aim, only to put the projectile on air. To put it on short words, imagine a guided bomb launched by a howitzer, it's a guided round whose fins and aerodinamics increase the range, avoiding detection because there's not a traditional balistic trajectory.
holy shite i didnt realize what a beast it is.
Against a static target with favorable weather, it can well be the 100km range. The range will drop drastically against a moving target, which the situation requires more maneuverability from the round for trajectory adjustments to ensure a hit. Also with the low velocity of the round, it is of questionable efficiency against major ships with modern AAW systems or SAM batteries too.
so this is a trainer simulation or something?
nice vid, it is just that, a vid. Fancy graphics, nothing more. ;)
bestia ke roba
awEsome, please
cool vid
They cant. Its a special paint. Something to do with IR and NBCD. It think it doesnt absorb NBC agents. Buggered if I know for sure, but thats what an instructor from SOA explained to me when I asked the same thing... The only colour that they have come up with is the tan (Handy isnt it?!?) Just guess they have to wait till the paint starts to chip away - No way the ADF will spring for super paint when they can just do it in the normal green, black and tan...
austrian premium technique! Awsome!
